ENG Vs BAN Warm-up Match, Guwahati, 2nd Powerplay Score Update - BAN Inning

ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, India Warm-up match between England and Bangladesh is being played in Guwahati, notorious for its unpredictable weather. Bangladeshi skipper winning the toss and electing to bat first against England for testing their batting orders in this ICC WC 2023’s Warm up game.  

The 2nd last day of the Warm-up phase kicks start with Bangla Opener, Tanzid Hasan & Litton Das taking on English pace attack Reece Toplay & Sam Curren. Bangladesh got a flying start as they gathered 18 in first 2 overs of the warm-up game of ICC ODI Worrldcup 2023, India.

After misfiring in the first over of the match, Reece Toplay toppled Das in his very 2nd over as he was trapped behind the stumps when Bangladesh were 18 in 2.1.  One Down Najmul Hossain Shanto who was totally in between the devil and the deep sea while facing the giant Toplay. Shanto also went for 2 off 11 in the 5th over. Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz joined well-settled Tanzid for rebuilding the inning.

Summarily, Reece Topley from England and Tanzid Hasan from Bangladesh were the pick of the players in the 1st Powerplay. Bangladesh manage to score 47/2 in the mandatory powerplay. 

The 2nd powerplay of the warm-up ICC Men’s ODI CWC 2023 between BAN vs ENG was also economical for both of the teams and Bangladesh started building the inning against fiery English  bowlers. 

Tanzid and Miraz looked in good touch with 50+ partnership until Wood came in to shatter Tanzid’s stumps. This time 52 runs partnership ended by an inside edge and Tanzid went back to the pavillion after scoring 45 off 44 with a strike rate of 102. At this stage Bangladesh were  Next came Bangladeshi Wicket-keeper batter Mushfiq.

The experienced campaigner, Mushfiq and Miraz were rebuilding the inning when Rashid came through to the defences of Mushfiq and give him a handsome farewell. Mushfiq was off to the dugout with a beautiful googly form the English magician. He just scored 8 off 15 and apened the door for Muhamadullah.

Muhamadullah was aggressive right from the first ball he had faced. He was eyeing to attack one of the googly master Adil Rahisd. He’s down the track made the flighted one to the full toss and lifted it over deep midwicket where Livingston took an easy catch to dismiss Muhamadullah on 18 off 21 when the scorecard was 138 at 26.3.

Towhid Hridoy was the 7th down batter to support the quest of Miraz. Undoubtedly, The command totally was in control of Mehidy Hasan Miraz as he steadily continued his sail against the mighty bowling attack. He completed his fifty on 64 balls with a strike rate of 78 including seven 4s  in the 27th over of the inning. 

Surprisingly, Buttler utilised 9 different bowlers in the whole inning. Still they couldn’t defeat Miraz’s defence.  

As the rain came into play, the play was reduced to 37 overs per side. At the end of the 2nd powerplay, Bangladesh managed to score 153 with the runrate of 5.10 losing 5 wickets. Conclusively, Bangladeshi batter sneak 108 runs in the 20 overs powerplay giving away 3 wickets. As usual, Adil Rashid, stunned the batters with his superb spin bowling and got 2 wickets conceding only 27 in his 5 overs. On the other hand, Miraz was unbeatable with his 60 runs during the 2nd powerplay of 1st inning of ICC Men’s CWC23, India.
