Football Italia has obtained exclusive confirmation that AS Roma and Hellas Verona have finalized an agreement for defender Daniele Ghilardi. The transfer is valued at €10.5 million, with an additional €1 million in potential add-ons.
The final terms were ironed out during a conference call held this evening, with the official documentation exchange between the two clubs scheduled for Friday.
Upon completion of the paperwork, Ghilardi will be cleared to travel to Rome for his medical examination and to formally sign his new contract.
Ghilardi Seen as Key Defensive Addition for Gasperini`s Roma

Negotiations for the defender had been ongoing for several weeks, with initial proposals, some as low as €9 million, being turned down.
A significant factor for Hellas Verona during these talks was the obligation to pay 50% of the transfer fee to Fiorentina, stemming from Ghilardi`s €380,000 move to the Stadio Bentegodi in 2022.
Prior to making a significant impact in Serie A last season, Ghilardi gained experience during loan spells at Mantova and Sampdoria.
Ghilardi is reportedly considered an ideal fit for Gian Piero Gasperini`s preferred three-man defensive setup at Roma.
