Scotland’s national football team has announced its squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Belarus, featuring five players from Italy`s top-tier Serie A league. Among the notable inclusions are midfielders Scott McTominay and Lewis Ferguson.
Manager Steve Clarke has selected this contingent of five Serie A-based talents to represent Scotland in their crucial World Cup qualification fixtures scheduled for the coming week.
Scotland Squad Features Key Serie A Talent

The five players joining the squad include midfielders Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour from Napoli, Lewis Ferguson of Bologna, and Lennon Miller from Udinese, alongside Torino`s striker Ché Adams.
Both McTominay and Gilmour recently kicked off their 2025-26 Serie A season, making appearances in Napoli`s convincing 2-0 victory against Sassuolo on Saturday. Notably, McTominay opened the scoring for the new Serie A campaign, delivering a powerful header in the initial half of the match.
Conversely, Lewis Ferguson was listed as an unused substitute for Bologna`s 1-0 defeat to Roma, which also took place on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Lennon Miller`s Udinese and Ché Adams` Torino are scheduled to compete against Verona and Inter, respectively, later tonight.
World Cup Qualifying Campaign Kicks Off

Scotland is set to play Denmark away on Friday, September 5, followed by an away match against Belarus on Monday, September 8.
