India and Pakistan ODI World Cup match’s location has been made Public

India and Pakistan ODI World Cup match’s loaction has been made public. The forthcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is expected to include the headline match between India and Pakistan at Kolkata’s historic Eden Gardens stadium. The 12 locations that will host all the matches for the ODI World Cup have been finalised, and it is anticipated to begin on October 5 and end on November 19. Four games are anticipated at each location, and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has been chosen to host the championship game.

The 2016 T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan was one of several matches between the two teams that Eden Gardens had previously hosted. The MS Dhoni-led team defeated the Men in Green by six wickets in the match thanks to Virat Kohli’s outstanding effort of 55* runs off 37 deliveries. The famous Indo-Pak encounter, which India won by 29 runs, was previously held at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali during the 2011 ODI World Cup.

The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai has also been identified as a potential location for the high-stakes encounter, therefore the location of the India-Pakistan match is not yet official. If Kolkata encounters any difficulties hosting the delicate match, Chennai may be given the opportunity.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, chaired by Najam Sethi, has requested that Bangladesh be considered as a potential location for Pakistan’s World Cup matches, but the controversy surrounding Pakistan’s participation on Indian land has not yet been resolved. However unlikely it may be, negotiations are still going on.

Notably, the discussion about holding Pakistan’s World Cup games in Bangladesh started after India objected to hosting the Asia Cup on Pakistani territory. Sethi, the head of the PCB, originally opposed the notion but ultimately agreed to hold India’s matches in a neighbouring nation if the ICC and BCCI complied with their demand over their stance on the World Cup destination. India’s Asia Cup matches will be played in nations including the UAE, Oman, and Sri Lanka.

Following this BCCI decision, the PCB responded by stating that it would not send its side to the coveted ICC World Cup if India boycotted the Asia Cup, as had been previously reported.
