In Bengaluru, the island nation dismissed a faltering England for 156 in 34 overs and reached their target with 146 balls remaining.
England, captained by Jos Buttler, lost their fourth straight game and are now in danger of being eliminated from the ICC World Cup 2023, while Sri Lanka managed to save a trip to the semi-finals.
“We only won against the Netherlands and we also lost three games, so I think they undervalued our team.” Theekshana told reporters, “I think they underestimated us.”
