Matt O’Riley, the 24-year-old midfielder, joined Brighton and Hove Albion last summer from Celtic in a transfer valued at nearly €30 million. However, his debut season with the Seagulls saw him make only sporadic appearances. According to reports from L’Équipe, O`Riley could now be on the move.
During his time at Brighton last season, O’Riley participated in 23 games, scoring twice and providing three assists. Despite these contributions, he has yet to fully cement a regular place in the Premier League side`s lineup. His situation has reportedly attracted significant interest from Olympique Marseille.
While Marseille recently secured Angel Gomes on a free transfer, the club is still looking to reinforce its midfield further. There`s also a possibility that Ismaël Bennacer, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Marseille from AC Milan, might return. However, O’Riley is also high on OM’s radar.

L’Équipe suggests that Marseille would primarily seek a loan agreement for O’Riley. Interestingly, the midfielder has already held discussions regarding a potential transfer to the Vélodrome with his compatriot, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
