Mitchell Marsh thinks he’s “comfortable at three” if Travis Head returns. Mitchell Marsh of Australia stated on Tuesday that he is “comfortable” batting at number three should Travis Head, the team’s opener, return for their 2023 ICC World Cup match against the Netherlands.
Mitchell Marsh enters the ICC World Cup 2023 match in New Delhi on Wednesday having scored 121 runs in his opening partnership of 259 runs with David Warner against Pakistan the previous week.
Australia has played four matches in the competition thus far, and in the first two wins, the in-form Marsh has opened the batting.

Marsh remarked, “Yeah, I mentioned to David Warner, that maybe he can bat three, but I got a firm no from him, so that’s being sarcastic there guys!” in reference to dropping down the batting order.
However, I’m glad to be back down to three. I feel pretty comfortable at three because, as you can see, I’ve batted there a lot over the last couple of years. And I believe that’s the greatest place for me to play for this squad if and when Head returns.
After losing to South Africa to start the tournament, Australia defeated India and then came back to finish fourth in the 10-team standings headed by the hosts.
“This is not uncharted ground for us. Although we got off to a poor start and occasionally faced pressure, Mitchell Marsh commented, “The atmosphere is fantastic.
