Netherlands Bowling Performance Against New Zealand in the 6th Match of the ICC World Cup 2023

The Netherlands is up against New Zealand in the 6th Match of the ICC World Cup 2023. The match is at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The Netherlands has a fair bit of idea of the as they have already played their first match against Pakistan on the same ground. 

Early on the Netherlands won the toss and elected ball first. The long handle that was used by the Black Caps in the last innings was expected in this one too. But, Netherlands bowlers created pressure right from the word go. The first three overs of the innings were maiden but the next 4 overs belonged to New Zealand.  They scored 52 runs from number 4 to over number 7.

In the first powerplay, New Zealand scored 63 without losing any wickets which was a good start after being 0 in 3 overs. But the second powerplay only yielded New Zealand 175 runs which means the score was 238 at the end of the 40th over. 

In the last powerplay, they managed to score 84 runs losing 4 wickets. In the last three overs of the Match, the Netherlands conceded 50 runs. New Zealand got the momentum which they were looking for.

Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren, and Roelof van der Merwe were the pick of the bowlers. All of them got 2 wickets each. Roelof van der Merwe was the most economical bowler for the Netherlands. Bas de Leede went for a few runs in the last over. He gave away 64 runs in his 20 overs and got the crucial wicket of Ravindra.

New Zealand posted a massive total of 322 on the board for the Netherlands to chase down. It will be a difficult total for the Ranked No.10 team to chase.
