Netherlands Cameback in the Match by Posting a Huge Total of 245 on the Board vs South Africa in the ICC World Cup 2023 

South Africa is on fire vs Netherlands in their third match of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. The match started late due to the rain in Dharamsala, India. South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first. The match is reduced to 43 overs a side. Three bowlers can maximum of 9 overs and two can bowl 8. 

Powerplay 1 is from 1 to 9 overs. Powerplay 2 is from 10 to 35 and the last power is from 36 to 43 overs. The Netherlands did not play well. They started very slowly and kept sling wickets at regular intervals. 

The Netherlands lost their first wicket at 22 in the 7th over. 2nd wicket went down for 24 on the board six balls later. 16 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket that was ended at 40 runs. When the  score reached 50, the Netherlands lost their 4th wicket. 32 runs partnership for the 5th wicket between Engelbrecht and Teja which was departed at 82. Another small partnership between Teja and the skipper lasted 30 runs and the Netherlands lost their 6th wicket when the score was 112 on the board. 

South African bowlers were up to the mark till the 30th over. Jansen took 2 wickets in his 8 overs spell with one maiden and 27 runs. He was a bit expensive initially. Lungi Ngidi took 2 wickets in his 8 overs for 47 runs with a maiden. Kagiso Rabada bowled 9 overs for 56 with 2 wickets. Gerald Coetzee bowled 8 for 57 runs with a wicket. Keshav Maharaj in his 9 overs gave away 38 runs getting one wicket. 

The first phase belonged to South Africa. At one stage they were 140 for 7 but the moment Roelof van der Merwe joined the crease runs started to fly. In the last powerplay, the Netherlands smashed South African bowlers for 89 runs. 

The skipper Scott Edwards was the highest scorer of the inning. He made 78 runs for 69 balls. Roelof van der Merwe used a long handle by scoring 29 for 19 balls and Dutt’s 9 balls 23 runs, helped South Africa to post a huge total of 245 in 43 overs.
