New Zealand Beat Netherlands by 99 Runs In the 6th Match of the ICC World Cup 2023

Today New Zealand took on the Netherlands in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad. New Zealand won the match by 99 runs by bowling Netherlands out in the 47th over of the match. New Zealand batted first and put a huge total on the board to be chased down by an inexperienced team, the Netherlands. Chasing 322, the Netherlands fell short and lost the match by 99 runs. A bid win for New Zealand to enhance their run rate.

New Zealand was offered batting by the Netherlands’ captain after winning the toss. In the start, New Zealand looked a bit off-color as they did not manage to score a single run. But after that, they push the paddle to accelerate the score. At the end of the first powerplay, New Zealand was 63 without any loss. 

In the second powerplay from 11th to 40th over, New Zealand faced some hard times in the middle. In this long powerplay, New Zealand only managed to score 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. In the last powerplay, New Zealand was not that good with the bat till the 47th over. But in the last 3 overs, New Zealand added 50 runs.

Three 50-plus scores from Young, Ravindra, and Latham helped New Zealand to post a total of 322 runs. But the cameo from Shatner at the end who scored 36 with over 200 plus strike rate. The total was a huge one to be chased down with ease.

The Netherlands started well, but soon they started losing wickets. To chase over 300 runs target you need big partnerships and the Netherlands team failed to do so. Players were coming and getting out at regular intervals.

Ackermann was the only player who gave his team an outside chance. He scored 69 runs facing 37 balls. The strike rate was healthy enough. When he got out the New Zealand players believed that we gonna this for sure. And did it easily by defeating this relatively new side, Netherlands by 99 runs margin. 

Snatner was the pick of the bowlers, he took 5 wickets for 59 in his full quota of 10 overs. Henry got 3 wickets as well giving away only 40 in his 8.3 overs. The Man of the Match was Mitchell Snatner for his brilliant all-round performance.
