NED Chose to Bowl First

The CWC23 has been providing some thrilling encounters. It’s the 5th day of ICC Men’s Cricket Worldcup 2023 where the table topper’s – New Zealand – are taking on Netherlands. NZ will try gaining 2 important points and keeping themselves on top with massive runrate boost. 

Both teams are playing their 2nd match of the CWC23, India. NZ have defeated ENG by miles whereas NED have put up a great show against PAK in their opening matches. Dutch skipper, after winning the toss and electing to field in the 6th match of ICC Men’s Cricket WC2023 against the Black Caps. Even Tom Latham, too, wants to field first in Hyderabad in the match against NED.

Only one change for NZ as Lockie Ferguson is in for place of James Neesham.

Davon Conway and Will Young are opening the innings for NZ. Despite knowing Conway’s 233 average against spin in ASIA agaisnt the spin, NED go with Aryan Dutt. It will be an interesting battle between Conway and Dutt.

NZ are done with their first power play scoring 63 for none at 6.3 smashing ten 4s and two 6s. Both openers look in perfect control until van der Marwe strikes in his 3rd over when NZ are 67 in 12. Conway’s gone for 32 off 40 at wide of long-on where de Leede picks an easy catch.

The batter of the last match Rachin Ravindra comes to the middle for further damaging the NED but the are not offering easy runs as their spinners are bowling at tight line and length in the sixth match of ICC Men’s Cricket WC23. NZ only manage to score 39 from 11-20 losing one wicket. Will Young reaches his 50 off 59 striking the ball at 85 witht he help of seven 4s and one 6.

At hte half way stage of the innings at Hyderabad, NZ govern with 135 for 1 with Will Young at 66 for 75 while Rachin succeeds in making 31 off 35. Meekeren deports Young on 70 off 80 striking at 87.5 and hit seven 4s and two 6s.

The spark which has been missing until 25th over of the innings of ICC CWC 2023 against NED just ignited by Mitchell Marsh who paces the innings and takes charge of NED bowlers. NZ go past 170 in the 30th over and gather 69 from 21-30 losing 1 wicket only in ICC CWC 2023’s 6th D/N game.

van der Marwe strikes again for his team and this time in-form Rachin Ravindra goes for 51 off 51. Rachin tickles the ball and Edwards grabs it easily behind the stumps. NZ are 3 down for 185 at 32.2 and the skipper is down to the middle at 5 for the proceedings.

Daryl Mitchell’s show continues with the bat in ICC CWC2023 against NED. The 3rd power play has gone with NZ on top after scoring 238 for the loss of 3 wickets. During 11-40 they have collected 175 runs at 5.83 smashing fifteen 4s and four 6s.

Meekeren successfully removes Mitchell with his off-cutter on the very first ball of the last power paly of 1st innings of 6th match of ICC CWC 2023, India. In the very next over de Leede removes Philips and put NZ under pressure.

Aryan Dutt joins the pary with double strike again. First Chapman and then Latham are removed and he finishes with 62 for 2 against the Black Caps. But Santner’s late cameo takes NZ’s total to 322. He scores 36 off 17 smashing three 4s and two 6s at 212.

From NZ, Young, Ravindra and Latham score half centuries whilst Mitchell misses his half century by 2 runs only. NZ manage 50 in the last 3 for the loss of 1 wicket at 16.67. Dutt, Meekeren and va der Merwe pick 2 wickets each while de Leede takes 1 for his 64 in 10.

Dutch spinners concede 155 in 24 overs at 6.46 while taking away 4 wickets at an average of 38.75. On the other hand, the pacers give away 164 in 26 for 3 wickets at the economy of 6.31 and averaging 54.7.

NED require 323 at a runrate of 6.46 to upset the Kiwis in their 2nd match of ICC Men’s CWC India 2023.
