Genoa has officially announced the acquisition of new striker Lorenzo Colombo from AC Milan. His arrival on a loan agreement includes an option to purchase, showcasing a creative approach to their public unveiling.
The 23-year-old forward finalized his transfer to Genoa this evening. The deal is structured as a paid loan with a buy option, which could transform into a mandatory acquisition for a total of €10 million if specific conditions are met.
These conditions are reportedly linked to Genoa successfully maintaining their position in Serie A for the upcoming season.
Genoa Welcomes New Striker Lorenzo Colombo

In their official announcement, Genoa cleverly leveraged a historical connection by referencing Christopher Columbus, the famous explorer, who also originated from the port city and shares the Italian surname `Colombo`.
This creative approach saw the club release an image of Colombo styled similarly to an antique portrait of the renowned explorer.
Colombo, an academy graduate of AC Milan, has gained experience through several loan spells at various clubs, including Cremonese, SPAL, Lecce, Monza, and most recently, Empoli.
Last season, he achieved a personal best with six goals in 37 Serie A appearances, although his efforts weren`t enough to save Empoli from relegation to Serie B.
