Paris FC Nearing Agreement with RB Leipzig for Amadou Haidara

Football & Cricket

Paris FC has been very active in the current summer transfer window and appears to be on the verge of securing another significant acquisition. According to L`Équipe, the recently promoted Ligue 1 club is targeting 27-year-old Malian international Amadou Haidara, who has spent most of his professional career with Red Bull-affiliated teams.

Haidara currently plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, and reports suggest that Paris FC is in advanced negotiations with the German club. The shared ownership interest of Red Bull in both teams is likely a major reason for the rapid progress of these discussions.

Bringing in Haidara would provide substantial experience to a team making its first appearance in the French top flight in 46 years. A two-time Austrian Bundesliga champion with RB Salzburg, he has accumulated over 150 appearances in the German top league and was part of the squad that reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in the 2019-20 season.

As the Ligue 1 season approaches, securing Haidara would represent another significant transfer for Stéphane Gilli`s squad, following other notable acquisitions like Moses Simon (30) and Otávio (23).

Haidara was a runner-up at the U-17 FIFA World Cup with Mali and has earned 46 caps for the senior national team. He also won two German Cup titles with Leipzig. His current contract with the German club runs until the summer of 2026.
