PSL 9: Families of Umar Amin, Mohammad Amir, and Moin Khan faced harassment. Tragedy struck during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 match between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans when families of Quetta Gladiators members including Mohammad Amir, Moin Khan and Umar Amin faced harassment at the Multan Cricket Ground.

According to reports, these families were forcibly removed from the VIP box at the stadium, creating anger and confusion among the culprits behind the unfortunate incident with allegations that Multan Deputy Commissioner ( DC) Rizwan was involved in harassing families of Quetta Gladiators members and using offensive language.

Franchise operators clarified that the affected residence was identified as a county management box, asking families to vacate the premises. However, when this was done, serious concerns arose about the reported abuse.

After the match, players and officials of Quetta Gladiators expressed strong protest against the unacceptable actions of DC Multan, demanding intervention of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials Gladiators requested Punjab Chief Minister who was also PCB Chairman, and the government. 

Due to the PCB’s swift intervention, plans were made to move the affected families to other, more appropriate accommodation. This incident highlights the need for respect, professionalism and dignity in sport, and hopefully appropriate action will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
