According to Italian media, AS Roma has reportedly improved its bid for Claudio Echeverri, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy for €33 million. This revised offer notably includes a €40 million counter-option for Manchester City.
Echeverri himself has explicitly stated his desire to join the Giallorossi, eager for the opportunity to play alongside his Argentine compatriots, Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé.
He previously declined an offer from Girona, meaning Roma must now finalize an agreement directly with Manchester City.
Echeverri`s Strong Preference for Roma Transfer

The deal structure remains a loan with an option to make the move permanent, which often implies higher overall costs compared to a direct, guaranteed transfer.
After an initial €25 million bid was reportedly rejected, Corriere dello Sport suggests Roma`s latest proposal amounts to a total package of €33 million.
Concurrently, Manchester City would retain a buy-back clause for the young forward, set at €40 million.
This clause ensures that should Echeverri develop significantly at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma would still profit from any future re-transfer back to City.
Manchester City originally acquired Echeverri from River Plate in 2024 for €18.5 million. He has since made only three competitive appearances for City, scoring once in the FIFA Club World Cup.
