Under the new format, each club will play two opponents from each pot – one match at home and one away. Critically, teams cannot be drawn against clubs from their own nation, and no more than two teams from a single country can be in the same group of opponents for the league phase.

According to Thursday`s print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, all Champions League participants for the 2025-26 season, including Italian clubs, have been assessed and rated on a scale of one to five stars.
