Today, India will reveal its World Cup 2023 Players, with KL Rahul’s Position as the main talking point. The 15-person provisional Indian team for the ODI World Cup 2023 will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 5. At 1:30 pm IST, chief selector Ajit Agarkar is anticipated to meet with the media and reveal the team.

In order to finalize the team and meet with captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid, Ajit Agarkar travelled to Sri Lanka last week. The squad will also include a few reserve players due to the injury woes of star players like KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah.

Notably, September 5 is the deadline for announcing the provisional team for the World Cup, which begins on October 5 in Ahmedabad. By September 28, teams can make adjustments to their rosters.

Despite beating Nepal on Monday to advance to the Super 4s of the Asia Cup 2023, India still has many unanswered concerns regarding the World Cup roster. Rain delayed both of India’s games during the group stage, preventing the team from learning more about their makeup.

India had an idea of their World Cup squad before travelling to Sri Lanka, according to captain Rohit Sharma, who was speaking after India’s convincing victory over Nepal on Monday. He also said they were confident that the two games in the Asia Cup group stage wouldn’t provide them with enough clarity regarding the potential names. Additionally, the delays brought on by the rain did not help.

“Look, we knew what our 15 would be like in the back of our minds when we came here. We were very aware that the Asia Cup would not provide us with a complete picture of what the squad would look like, so we only wanted to look at one or two positions.”
