"We Are Going To Play World Cup Not Only Against India": Babar Azam on the ICC World Cup 2023

“We Are Going To Play World Cup Not Only Against India”: Babar Azam on the ICC World Cup 2023. Though it will be a pressure cooker match but this is not the only match that Pakistan is aiming at.

Prior to the Test series against Sri Lanka, the captain of the Pakistani national team told the media that the team’s focus was on winning the World Cup, not just beating Sri Lanka, but also all other 10 opponents they would face in the tournament.

India and Pakistan will compete in the ICC World Cup 2023 in October and November of this year. In the 50-over super competition, India is unbeaten so far. When the two teams meet on October 15 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, they currently boast a 7-0 record against the Men in Green, and Rohit Sharma and company will be eager to keep that record.

Despite their greatest attempts, Pakistan has been unable to defeat India in any of the seven 50-over World Cups since 1992. Pakistan has experienced success in different facets of the game of cricket, such as when it defeated India in the 2017 Champions Trophy final.

However, the nation has struggled in World Cups. The rivalry between Pakistan and India is one of the fiercest in cricket, and games between the two teams are always fraught with anxiety and anticipation. India has historically dominated these games, frequently outplaying Pakistan.

Babar Azam, the captain of the national team, emphasised that the squad must continue to compete at a high level against all opponents and that it must be prepared to adapt to different venues, weather conditions, and playing surfaces.

“We’ll play in the World Cup against nations besides India. We also have to play our respective matches against nine other teams. Only after we defeat them all will we be able to go to the finals. Focus is shared among all ten teams rather than just one. In order to go to the finals, our strategy is to perform just as well against all ten teams.” according to Babar Azam.

“Our position is to play cricket wherever it is played because, as a professional, you have to be prepared for everything, including various environmental factors and playing conditions. The actual difficulty lies in this. Our primary goals are to win, dominate, and represent Pakistan, not just to beat a specific side.” Babar Azam continued.

India-Pakistan matches are incredibly tense, and the tension can easily be cut with a knife. The talisman batter, however, seems to think otherwise and is prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve fame.
