'Who Made That Fixture?': Kapil Dev Expresses Displeasure With the ODI World Cup 2023 Schedule

‘Who Made That Fixture?’: Kapil Dev Expresses Displeasure With the ODI World Cup 2023 Schedule. Given the rigorous schedule for the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023, legendary skipper Kapil Dev believes the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not doing enough for its players. The eagerly anticipated event will be staged in India, with the opening match between New Zealand and England scheduled for October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

While the World Cup schedule has already been established, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah, the Indian body is expected to make some modifications in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Kapil Dev believes that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not providing enough support to the Indian cricket team due to their demanding schedule. The former Indian captain stated that India will play their group stage games at nine different locations.

Dev further suggested that the BCCI should provide the essential amenities to the players, including as chartered flights for travel during the premier competition. Kapil highlighted his dissatisfaction with the unbalanced travel schedule in an interview with The Week, saying:

“India is playing 11 matches, and the amount of travelling.Who made that light fixture? You’re heading to Dharmashala, then Bengaluru, then Kolkata. “I’m playing in nine different locations,”

Kapil Dev was also asked about India’s ICC (International Cricket Council) trophy drought of ten years. In response, Dev predicted that the Men in Blue, led by Rohit Sharma, will most certainly reach the tournament’s finals. He believes India is on the right track and that they are just one step away from ending their trophy drought. He stated: “We’re still doing great…We’ve made it to the championships, the semifinals,”
