Why Link Cricket with Politics? Former Pakistani Captain Requests PCB to Allow Babar & Co. to Visit India. Pakistan and India will soon engage in combat on Indian soil this year. According to the schedule for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, the archrivals will face off on October 15 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium in what is anticipated to be a high-tension match. However, there are persistent allegations that assert Pakistan has denied sending people to India.
The conflict started last year when Jay Shah, the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), vehemently declared that India will not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board subsequently issued a warning, saying that Babar Azam and company will withdraw from the World Cup if India postponed their visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
After months of discussions, the continental tournament will now take place in accordance with the PCB’s hybrid format, under which the first few matches will be played in Pakistan and the remainder of the competition will be held in Sri Lanka.
The dates for the 2023 Asia Cup have been released, however the fixtures have not. Meanwhile, media sources consistently assert that Pakistan will stick to its stance if India refuses to play on its territory.
In the meantime, Misbah ul Haq, a former captain of Pakistan, has asked the PCB to allow Babar and his team to play in the 50-over World Cup in India. He stated during a public occasion that politics should not be incorporated into the sport of cricket.

“Why not cricket when there might be contact between the two countries in other sports? Why associate politics with cricket? People should not be denied the opportunity to watch their teams compete against one another, Misbah was cited as saying in a Times of India article.
The former cricketer talked about his time playing in India and how it inspired him to be a better player. In his opinion, they should concentrate on cricket and winning the World Cup because India’s conditions are comparable to Pakistan’s.
“We have relished the pressure and crowds in India during the several times I have played there. Because it inspires you and because India’s conditions are ideal for us. Our crew is capable of performing successfully in Indian circumstances.”
