World Cup 2023 BCCI Under Criticism for Scheduling Turmoil, With Broadcasters Branding Them 'Incompetent' Them 'Incompetent'

World Cup 2023: BCCI under criticism for scheduling turmoil, with broadcasters branding them ‘incompetent’. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is under fire from cricket commentators Adam Collins and Geoff Lemon for the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2023 schedule. The announcement by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah of alterations to key fixtures for the showpiece event has stirred uproar. The high-profile India vs. Pakistan match, originally scheduled for October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will be shifted a day earlier due to the Navratri festival, according to Shah.

Several other member boards have also expressed reservations, causing the World Cup scheduling to remain questionable. The broadcasters did not hold back, branding the BCCI an “incompetent sporting body” for the disruptions and lack of trustworthy fixture planning, despite the fact that the season is only three months old.

Broadcasters Lemon and Collins have now slammed the BCCI and labelled it an “incompetent sporting body” for the uncertainty around World Cup scheduling.

“The schedule for the 50-over men’s World Cup in October-November this year is changing.” Because several host boards have written to the BCCI and stated that “the schedule does not work.”

“‘You’re making us jump through too many logistical hoops here. You need to allow us additional time to travel and so on’. So they’re thinking about it,” Collins joked on The Final Word podcast.

Lemon agreed with his colleague and went on to criticise the Indian cricket body for its ineptness.

“I believe the BCCI is the most inept major sporting body in the world.” On the merely practical reasons that we’re laying here, it’s difficult to make the case otherwise.

“There is a World Cup coming up in, what, three months that still doesn’t have a dependable fixture.” You cannot book tickets to games since they may be moved to another place and date entirely. “I don’t think the BCCI is bad… “They’re just really bad at doing things,” Lemon explained.
