Zaka Ashraf visits the Pakistani team ahead of India’s match at the 2023 ICC World Cup. Prior to their match against India in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 at Ahmedabad, Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, held a meeting with the Pakistan men’s team.

Zaka Ashraf inspired the players at the meeting and expressed his and the country’s hopes for tomorrow’s match.

Later tonight, key government officials and all BCCI officials would be present at a luncheon held in honour of Zaka Ashraf.

In contrast, the Men in Green practiced for the second time today at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Pakistan had trained last evening as well. The coaching staff kept a tight eye on the players during the practice session, paying particular attention to each of the three departments batting, bowling, and fielding.

Prior to this, Pakistan maintained their unbeaten streak and defeated Sri Lanka in the eighth game of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Tuesday.

In the history of the ODI World Cup, the Men in Green defeated Ireland to set a record for the highest-ever run chase.

The Men in Green faced early blows while chasing the target of 345 runs as they lost both of their top-order batsmen, Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam, in just 7.1 overs and found themselves 37-2. However, the winning combination of Mohammad Rizwan and World Cup rookie Abdullah Shafique turned the tide for the struggling Pakistani team.

The two bats’ 176-run partnership gave their team the much-needed breather and put them back in a commanding position.

After making 113 off 103 thanks to ten fours and three sixes, Abdullah left the pavilion, but Rizwan stuck around and helped his team cross the finish line with 131 runs, Pakistan’s second-highest individual score in the World Cup, surpassing Ramiz Raja’s 119 against New Zealand in 1992.

The team captained by Babar Azam triumphed over the Netherlands in their opening game of the competition.
