All support staff contracts have been extended by BCCI, eliminating rumours that Rahul Dravid will remain India's head coach

All support staff contracts have been extended by BCCI, eliminating rumours that Rahul Dravid will remain India’s head coach. With an announcement on Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) put an end to any rumours regarding the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team and his support staff. Rahul Dravid’s and his team members’ contracts have been extended. The Indian board has agreed to extend the contracts of head coach Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhmabrey, and fielding coach T Dilip..

The contracts were set to expire after the recently ended ODI World Cup. It is said that India’s strong success at the World Cup, under their leadership, is the main cause of this. They defeated Australia in the championship game, although they did not win the tournament. Nevertheless, they won ten of their eleven games.

According to several sources, Dravid was hesitant to accept an extension because of the duties of his position, which include regular travel. However, it seems that after being contacted by board officials, the former captain of India changed his mind.

After the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which finished recently, the BCCI had constructive talks with Dravid and decided to extend the contract by unanimous decision, the BCCI stated in a release.

The length of the extension granted to Dravid and his support team was not specified, although it is likely to last until the West Indies and USA T20 World Cup in June of the following year.

Following the T20 World Cup 2021, Dravid was named India’s head coach. India has performed admirably in all three formats since that time. They defeated Sri Lanka, South Africa, and New Zealand at home while keeping the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Their march was halted in ICC competitions during the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals. In the World Test Championship, they performed far better, but they fell short at the last hurdle. During the ODI World Cup, the narrative was comparable. Up to the semifinals, Dravid’s team put up impressive performances.
