An ex-player from Pakistan ridicules Babar Azam for taking Virat Kohli’s signed jersey

An ex-player from Pakistan ridicules Babar Azam for taking Virat Kohli’s signed jersey. Babar Azam is facing criticism for stealing Virat Kohli’s autographed shirt after Pakistan’s World Cup loss to India last week.

The Indian batting maestro, following the World Cup match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, gave his signed shirt to the Pakistan captain.

India won the match by 7 wickets and maintained their unbeaten streak in the competition after bowling out Pakistan for 191 and then quickly reaching the goal in 30.3 overs.

Virat, 34, was seen giving his jersey to Babar in a video that went viral on social media. Kohli and Babar were seen chatting when the Indian players were busy celebrating their victory. Babar asked for his jersey, and Kohli was more than pleased to oblige, giving it to him right away after signing it.

Former players, who feel that it was inappropriate to grab the shirt in the middle of the stadium, have harshly criticized the move.

Images of Kohli and Babar switching jerseys were broadcast on televisions across the world. Akram expressed his disapproval of Babar receiving t-shirts from Kohli in front of cameras following Pakistan’s loss in an exclusive conversation on A-Sports.

“That’s what I exactly said when I saw the picture [getting the shirts publicly, not privately],” Akram stated. “This was not the right thing to do today. If your uncle’s son has requested you to fetch Kohli’s shirt, then go to the dressing room after the game if that’s what you want to do (agar chache ke puttar ne keh diya hai ki t-shirt chahiye kohli ki).

Following Pakistan’s crushing defeat, Babar Azam acknowledged that the Men in Green fell short of expectations in the IND versus PAK encounter.

“We had a good start. I have a good working relationship with Imam. Rizwan and I wanted to play cricket like normal people do. We abruptly collapsed and had a poor outcome. Our first plan was to aim for 280–290. We are falling short with the new ball. The way Rohit is playing, he had a tremendous century,” Pakistan captain Babar Azam remarked following the Pakistan vs. India game.
