Barcelona has suffered an early setback in their transfer plans this week, as it’s understood that Harry Kane has agreed to extend his contract with Bayern Munich.
The Catalan giants have been actively seeking attacking reinforcements for the 2026/27 season. While searching for a successor to Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona had identified Julián Álvarez of Atlético Madrid as their primary target.
However, Harry Kane has also been a long-term consideration for Barcelona’s sporting director Deco and his team. Reports indicate that Barcelona recently made contact with Kane’s representatives.
Despite these efforts, the information suggests that Barcelona’s pursuit has been unsuccessful. According to a report from The Athletic’s David Ornstein, England captain Harry Kane is expected to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich, even after an inquiry from Barcelona to his representatives.
