Spanish national team coach Luis de la Fuente has expressed his view that Barcelona’s Pedri performs at a higher level for his country than for his club.
This statement comes amidst ongoing discussions about the 23-year-old’s role for La Roja.
As expected, Pedri has continued to be a key player for Spain at the World Cup, starting in all three of their group stage matches.
However, his exact position on the field has remained a topic of debate, with discussions revolving around whether the Barcelona player should play in a deeper or more advanced midfield role.
When questioned by the media on Monday about Pedri’s form on the international stage compared to his club performances, Luis de la Fuente shared his perspective.
The Spanish manager stated to RTVE:
“For me, Pedri is better for Spain than he is for Barcelona! With us, he’s exceptional.”
