BookMyShow Finally speaks out regarding the World Cup ODI tickets scandal. BookMyShow has at last taken to Twitter to express its sincere condolences to the disappointed fans who, despite logging on promptly at 8 PM, were unable to purchase tickets for India games at the upcoming World Cup 2023.
Notably, ticket sales for India games began on August 30th, but due to the overwhelming demand, fans were unable to purchase tickets. Fans criticised the BookMyShow platform and the BCCI as a result on social media.
After facing fan backlash, BookMyShow took to their official social media account to address the commotion in an official statement. The declaration said:
The devotion to cricket in our nation has never been surpassed, and this past week saw several million fans log onto BookmyShow at once to purchase a limited number of tickets for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
We recognise that not all fans found it simple to purchase tickets, with some expressing frustration and even heartbreak. In a nation like India, where cricket is extremely popular, there is always a high demand for tickets, and long lines are usually the result. We are working to be able to give you a fighting chance to get access to the tickets, even though it is always a race against time to attend this cricket extravaganza.
