Can’t say that India is favourites right now for the ICC World Cup 2023, says Kapil Dev

Can’t Say That India Is Favorites Right Now for the ICC World Cup 2023, says Kapil Dev. Kapil Dev, a former Indian player, thinks it is premature to declare Team India the favorites to win the ICC World Cup in 2023. Kapil Dev did, however, remark that India has a very strong team. Many previous athletes have picked India as the favorite to win the ICC World Cup in 2023.

Since the competition is being held in India, many cricket experts and enthusiasts think that the men-in-blue would win the championship. On home soil, India is a tremendously potent team. In addition, the host nation’s squad won the last three World Cups.

Although we can’t say that India is the favorite right now, former Indian captain Kapil Dev said that our team is extremely excellent while addressing on the sidelines of the inaugural event for the third edition of the J&K Open.

“I believe that finishing in the top four is more significant; after that, everything will depend on luck, after all. The former all-rounder stated, “We can’t claim right now that we are favorites, of course our team is really talented.

Kapil Dev, who guided India to its first ODI World Cup triumph in 1983, also stated that he is unaware of any other teams save Team India. He cannot label India among his favorites for this reason. He did, however, believe that India is prepared to compete and win titles.

“The mind says we must work very hard, but the heart wants something else. Since I am familiar with our team but not with other teams, I believe it would be unjust of me to provide an unresponsive response.India’s team is prepared to compete and take home the championships. They should have fun and play with passion, continued Kapil Dev.

The ICC World Cup 2023 gets underway in India on October 5. The big tournament features a total of ten teams. India will also play Australia in a three-match ODI series before the ICC World Cup 2023. The ODI series between IND and AUS will be seen on September 22, 24, and 27.
