England Tried Out 9 Bowlers Against Bangladesh in the Warmup Match of ICC World Cup 2023

England is trying out a different bowling combination as they are playing Reece Topley, Sam Curran, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, and Moen Ali, Mark Wood. The team seems to play with full strength. They have used all the available bowlers in this match to see their strengths and weaknesses. Due to rain intrupption, the match was reduced to 37 overs each side.

England gave a chance to all the bowlers before going into the main round of the ICC mega event. Everyone chipped in and bowled with energy. It was good practice for the pacer in such hot and humid conditions.

Topley started with a no-ball and Tanzid smacked the free hit for a six to provide the team with the start they were looking for. But Topley snatched it back from Bangladesh by picking up Das and Shanto in the powerplay. 

Topley bowled 4 Overs giving away 20 runs for 3 wickets but proved a bit expensive in the first spell but he pull it back in the last spell. Mark Wood bowled 3 overs with extreme pace. He took 1 wicket giving away 9 runs. David Willey bowled economically in the power play. He created problems for batters. He took two wickets in his 5 overs for 26 runs. Sam Curran bowled a brilliant bowling spell initially but was wicketless like other bowlers. In his second spell, he took two crucial wikets to bring his team in a commading position. Atkinson also bowled a few overs burst but a tocuh expensive. In his five overs he remained wicketless giving away over 6 runs per over. Chris Woakes also completed his five overs spell. The seam bowling has been absolutely brilliant. Every bowler bowled their heart out to pick wickets.

After continuing pace for 20 overs, the captain brought Adil Rashid to have a go. And he didn’t disappoint his captain by providing a wicket in his first over. He bowled Mushfiq Ur Rehim with a wrong one. Adil Rashid bowled a five overs spell economical spell. He took 2 two wickets for 27 runs. Moen Ali and Livingstone also stretched their arms with the ball. Livingstone was a bit expensive.

When the rain interrupted the match, Bangladesh were 153/5 in 30 overs. The run is a bit on the slower side. Bangladesh needs to up the scoring rate otherwise it will be an easy walk for England

This is the 5th warmup match interrupted by rain. Remember that the match between South Africa and New Zealand has already been interrupted by the rain. Rain has become a big concern for the organizers. This looks like the repetition of what we have seen in Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup
