Eoin Morgan stated that he Doesn't see Harry Brook Making The World Cup Roster

Eoin Morgan stated that he doesn’t see Harry Brook making the World Cup roster. The marquee event, the ODI World Cup 2023, is scheduled to start on October 5 and the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) recently announced their provisional squad for the upcoming tournament.

Many people were very surprised to learn that young Harry Brook was left off the roster when the squad was revealed. With his record across formats, Brook, who is 24 years old and one of the most promising young players in cricket, was not a part of the provisional squad.

Brook might not have made the team because all-rounder Ben Stokes decided to come out of retirement to play in the World Cup. Eoin Morgan, a former English captain, held a similar viewpoint. When a team has depth in its lineup, as Morgan claimed he could not fit Brook into the lineup under any circumstances.

“There are really good players who are left out of really good teams that have a lot of talent, but mostly a lot of success. I can’t fit Harry Brook into the squad when I look at the one that has been chosen. simply due to the addition of another middle-order player with Ben Stokes’ return. You do need a bowling ball without him.”

“You need two seamers and an extra spinner, which they have cover for, but an extra batter in amongst that, I just can’t fit Harry Brook in, which is amazing to say,” he continued.

It is important to note that England will play New Zealand in their World Cup opener. New Zealand won the 2019 World Cup. On October 5, the first match of the competition will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad between the two teams.
