Frenkie de Jong, a key player for Barcelona, has made a notable gesture by becoming the first member of the club’s senior squad to follow their new teammate, Anthony Gordon, on Instagram. This action comes shortly after Gordon’s official unveiling as a Barcelona player on Friday evening.
Following swift negotiations with Newcastle United during the week, Barcelona secured a deal for the English winger, reportedly a significant investment. Gordon subsequently traveled to Barcelona, the Catalan capital, to finalize his long-term contract.
Interestingly, even before officially signing his contract, the 25-year-old Gordon gained a prominent new follower on his social media. Upon hearing that Gordon’s arrival was imminent, Frenkie de Jong proactively followed him on Instagram, signaling his support for the incoming player.
It’s worth noting that Marcus Rashford also follows Gordon, stemming from their shared experience playing for the England national team. However, Rashford’s current status as a Barcelona player remains uncertain.
