Mitchell March and David Warner get the task to attack Jasparit Bumrah and No. 1 ranked ICC ODI Bowler Muhammad Siraj. The beginning of the mandatory power play proves costly for AUS as they lose their opener Mitchell March on 5. He’s sent back to the pavilion on duck by Bumrah and it’s Virat who grabs the tumbling catch with ease.

Atthe end of the 1st power play, Aus manage 43 for 1. Steven Smith and David Warner continue with their defensive approach. Magician Kuldip gets the big fist at 74 in the 17th over of the 1st innings of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, India 2023. Kuldip takes a sharp catch on his own bowling and David Warner is caught and bowled after scoring 41 off 52 hitting six 4s.

Australia make 43 for in the fisr ten and 42 for 1 in the next ten. So they are 85 for one at the end of the 20th.

Smith and Labuschagne’s 36-runs stand for the 3rd wicket is successfully broken by Jadija in the 27th over. Jadija’s sharp turning ball stuns Smith who’s bowled out on 46 off 71. AUS are 112/3 after 28th.

Yesterday, when AFG were 112/2 they collapse within no time and were bowled out on 156 by BAN. The anecdote is being replayed here as Ravindra Jadeja takes 3 quick wickets in space of 16 deliveries. After Smith, 1st Labuschagne and then Alex Carey join the dugout in the 30th over of the innings.

Labuschange scores 27 off 41 whilst Carey couldn’t open his account for Australia. Now Aussies are 119/5 and Ravindra Jadija is back on top with his game changin g spell getting 3 wickets in 6 overs.

As evidents from Maxwell changing his bat quite often due to heat and sweat tries to shift gears and takes on Kuldip. But his sharp carrom ball bowls Maxwell who only succeeds in scoring 15 off 25 in the 36th over. Kuldip gets his 2nd of the ICC CWC23 in his 8th over. Australia are 140/6 at the end of the 36.

Wickets are tumbling for AUS as Indian Spinners are tightening the screws here in Chennai. Australia lose their last recognised batter/allrounder with Ashwin opening his CWC23 account with Green’s wicket. They are now 140/7 and losing their 5th wicket for 30 runs.

Starc and Cummins show some resistance and add 25 more to the tatal when the Skipper tries to smear Bumrah on long-on but Shryas Iyer takes a low catch diving to his front. AUS are 165/8 in 42.2.

Adam Zampa and Starc lead the team in order to avoid the bowled out tag. They just try finding singles and rotating stirkes despite trying to smack the ball out of the park. Adam Zampa tries one but gets caught at mid-off after scoring 6 off 20 in the 2nd last over of the final power play. In the last over of the Australian Innings, Muhammad Siraj strikes and restricts Aussies to 199.
