Young Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has playfully warned his national teammate Marc Cucurella, who recently joined Real Madrid.
Cucurella, a 27-year-old defender, has made a move back to La Liga from Chelsea, signing with Barcelona’s bitter rivals, Real Madrid.
He is anticipated to secure the starting left-back position for José Mourinho’s Real Madrid team next season, effectively taking over from Álvaro Carreras.
This transfer means Cucurella will be the latest Real Madrid player tasked with marking Lamine Yamal during matches between Spain’s two most prominent football clubs.
During a recent media appearance, the talented winger seized the chance to deliver a good-natured warning to his fellow Spaniard.
When asked about Cucurella’s return to Spain in an interview with COPE, the 18-year-old stated:
“Look, I told him he’ll start the first game, but by the second, he’ll be a substitute… because I’m going to eat him alive!”
