Major Updates on Quinton de kock’s retirement from Heinrich Klaasen

Major update on Quinton de Kock’s retirement from Heinrich Klaasen. South Africa’s performance in the 2023 ICC World Cup has been outstanding. Quinton de Kock has also made a significant contribution amidst the outstanding performance. The wicketkeeper-batter is a prolific scorer who has already reached three century in the competition. In the most recent game against Bangladesh, he scored 174 off just 140 balls, which was his greatest performance to date.

This World Cup marks Quinton de Kock’s white-ball swansong. Following the World Cup, the 30-year-old declared his retirement from ODIs. However, losing him in his current form would be devastating for South Africa.

In just five innings of the World Cup, De Kock has already scored 407 runs, average over 81, with three hundreds to his credit. Many people were surprised by De Kock’s decision to retire, but his South African teammate Heinrich Klaasen believes the player will make his retirement one to remember and notes that it will be challenging to convince him to change his mind.

“It will be difficult to persuade him not to resign. Over the years, he has been fantastic for South Africa and for us as well. Though it’s painful to watch him leaving, maybe he’ll end his time here positively. For us in the competition, he has been outstanding,” Klaasen reportedly told broadcasters Star Sports.

Faf du Plessis was equally astounded by the South African team‘s performance in the 2023 World Cup. The Proteas, with eight points and an incredible net run rate of +2.370, are ranked second in the rankings after winning four of their last five games.

“I feel incredibly proud. I have been an enormous fan of seeing these guys play because of the way they are playing right now, having played with them for a very long time, and seeing them at the peak of their game, du Plessis said.
