Mickey Arthur and Other Coaches Step Down from Their Individual Positions

Mickey Arthur and Other Coaches Step Down from Their Individual Positions. Unexpectedly, Mickey Arthur, the director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, and Neil Puttick, the batting coach, and head coach Grant Bradburn have all opted to retire by the end of January 2024. In a press release, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this decision and emphasized that all parties involved had reached an amicable agreement on the departure.

After becoming director in April 2023, Arthur was able to handle his duties with Derbyshire, where he will remain head coach. The multi-talented director was put in a rare situation where he had to balance work with Derbyshire and the Pakistan team.

Conversely, Bradburn and Puttick have discovered fresh prospects outside the borders of Pakistan. Bradburn signed a three-year contract to become Glamorgan’s head coach, and Puttick will begin a new chapter in their coaching careers as Afghanistan’s batting coach.

Following Pakistan’s failure in the 2023 World Cup where they were unable to get past the quarterfinals the trio has left the country. The PCB’s provisional management committee was not empowered to alter the coaching staff after the event, which left Arthur, Bradburn, and Puttick in a precarious situation. All three had their responsibilities transferred after that, and none of them traveled with the team to Australia for their most recent Test tour.

Throughout the Australian Test tour, Adam Hollioake served as the batting coach while Mohammad Hafeez assumed the combined roles of team director and head coach. Regretfully, the team lost all three Tests in Australia after facing a formidable battle.

The hunt for a new leadership three for the Pakistan cricket team is about to commence as the cricketing world takes in this news. With Arthur, Bradburn, and Puttick gone, a chapter has come to an end and new ideas and approaches can now help to shape Pakistani cricket’s future. The cricket community is looking forward to the team’s next adventure and the hiring of a new coaching group to lead them on.
