SRI LANKA NETHERLANDS HAS QUALIFIED FOR WORLD CUP 2023

Netherlands becomes the tenth team to qualify and boards the aeroplane to India with Sri Lanka. The ICC World Cup Qualifiers Grand Final pits the unbeaten teams of Sri Lanka and the Netherlands against one another. The summit match is slated for Super Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 12.30 PM IST at the Harare Sports Club in Harare

Here is a look at some of the key player metrics, the top player picks, and the best advised XIs for the fantasy contests of this match, though, before the game goes live.

Both teams have secured their spots in the World Cup, the premier competition that will take place in India in October and November of this year. Only the Dutch and the Lankan Lions were able to board the aeroplane to India out of the ten teams who competed in the Qualifiers, with the other eight not making it to the World Cup.

Sri Lanka, led by Dasun Shanaka, has been in excellent form thus far in the competition, winning all seven of their matches. Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne, the openers, have consistently scored runs throughout the season, and Wanindu Hasaranga has woven a web with 20 victims.

With 10 points and a respectable net run rate of +1.600, they took first place in the Super Sixes table. Conversely, Scott Edwards’ Netherlands team has participated in seven games so far and has won five of them while losing only two.

Their two defeats were at the hands of Sri Lanka and the hosts, Zimbabwe. With six points and a net run rate of +.0.230, they came in second place in the Super Sixes table. Notably, they overcame their neighbours Scotland in a makeshift quarterfinal to tie with them for first place on points, but thanks to a higher NRR, they managed to edge out the Scots to win.

As a result of being in the top eight of the World Cup Super League, India, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and South Africa have already qualified for the quadrennial event.

The qualifying tournament’s championship match will be played on Sunday between Netherlands and Sri Lanka. The outcome, though, won’t really matter because both sides have already qualified for the World Cup.

In 2011, when the World Cup was last played in India, the Netherlands last participated in an ODI match. The Netherlands has also competed in the World Cup in 1996, 2003, and 2007.
