Never Pakistan! Four semifinalists are chosen by AB de Villiers for the 2023 ODI World Cup

Never Pakistan! Four semifinalists are chosen by AB de Villiers for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers announced his four semi-finalists for the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023 ahead of the event. The 39-year-old predicts that hosts India, five-time World Cup winners Australia, and reigning champions England will advance to the semi-finals, while his own nation, South Africa, will finish fourth.

The opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023 will take place on October 5 between England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Ben Stokes, who was England’s World Cup hero, has decided to play again in ODIs for the competition, which is a significant boost to his country’s hopes of winning the trophy once more.

Given that the ODI World Cup 2023 will be contested entirely in India, it will be the Indian team’s best opportunity to break their ICC title drought. When Team India won the World Cup in 2011 and MS Dhoni served as captain, they did so as the hosts. The team is under more pressure because they are the guests.

De Villiers responded, “Definitely, India,” when asked to predict the four ODI World Cup semifinalists for 2023 during a Q&A session on his YouTube channel. They will eventually succeed there, in my opinion. The World Cup is going to be a fairytale. Australia, England, and India were allowed to accompany the “big three.” Then, even if Pakistan also has a great chance, I want to support South Africa. South Africa will thus be the fourth team.

“I went there with three teams from outside the subcontinent, which is highly risky. However, I’ll continue since I believe the wickets will be good. I don’t believe there will be any poor wickets throughout the World Cup,” he continued.

“The final features England and India. Even though I truly want my South African boys to be there, I believe it will be amazing if they can find each other in that final.”
