The Netherlands all-rounder, Bas de Leede eyeing the Semi-Final of the ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan will take on the Netherlands in an all-important contest for both teams to stay in the tournament. Victory against the Netherlands will be a boost lifter for Pakistan as no one would want to lose points to a team that could be an easy opposition for other teams.
The format of this World Cup does not allow any team to other teams lightly. Teams will have to play with the same potential and intensity. So, Pakistan can’t afford to lose to the Netherlands, who are capable of beating Pakistan today.
But the Netherlands players have some other plans. They are sighting the Semi-Final of the World Cup. The Netherlands all-rounder, Bas de Leede in an interview revealed that being here in the World Cup is itself a big achievement. But qualifying for the Semi-Final will be a great achievement and support for the team.
In response to a question he was asked about his experience at the first ODI World Cup’ he said, “We are excited, we have a pretty young group of players who do not play ODIs that much. The only player who has ODI experience. Being here is a big achievement for us as a team. We want to play well against Pakistan tomorrow and hopefully beat them”.

On a question about his father’s advice, he answered, “ Nothing actually, the one thing he said, was enjoyed it. He is the type of father who lets people make their own decisions. He advised me not to be involved too much in cricket, just enjoy it”.
In response to a question about Shaheen the left-arm pacer from Pakistan, he said, “Yeah, Shaheen and Haris Rauf are quality bowlers. The thing that we do not often face is a left-arm pacer with the swing. So, Shaheen is our focus point in our preparation and training. Hopefully, we cloud him better than Starc the other day”.
When he was asked about if reaching the Semi-Finals of the ICC World Cup 2023, would it be helpful for the development of cricket in the country, he replied, “ I don’t think it would do much for the development of the cricket in the country. He added that being here for the mega event is itself a big achievement. After 4 years, cricket matches will be live telecast for the first time in Holland, which is big news for us. Even reaching the Semi-Finals will give us more publicity and reach, but like I said, being here is the biggest achievement already for us.”
A crucial match for both teams, Pakistan and the Netherlands. Pakistan is looking for a good start to the World Cup 2023 and the Netherlands on the other will be playing for their pride.
