Pakistan vs New Zealand Warmup Match Updates 80 for 2 When the Rain Stopped Play

Pakistan’s captain won the toss and decided to bat first. Imam and Abdullah Shafique started the proceedings for Pakistan. New Zealand (Henry) started with a wide followed by a leg bye. Pakistan lost their first wicket with 6 runs on the board. Henry got the first breakthrough in the third over for his team. Imam faced 10 deliveries for his single run. Latham got the catch. 

Abdullah is joined by the skipper Babar Azam. Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam steadied the innings. It was a slow start for both initially. They added 39 runs for the second wicket until Abdullah departed. Babar consumed his time, and when he started to look good, his partner left the crease by charging down and threw his wicket. Pakistan lost his second wicket on 45 in the 12th over of the match. Shafique scored 14 facing 25 ball.

After that, Rizwan joined the party. It was a slow start for him, but soon, he started connecting the ball very well. Rizwan smashed a six over long against Ravidra. Babar and Rizwan took on both the spinners till the rain stopped the play. Babar was not out on 36 for 48 balls, and Rizwan was not on 20 for 25 balls. 

New Zealand bowled really well. They didn’t allow Pakistan batters to score freely. Henry and Santner were the pick of the bowlers. Both got one wicket piece. Henry was economical, too. He only conceded 8 runs in his 3 overs. Shatner bowled 4 overs, giving away 15 runs. 

The match has been stopped due to rain. Pakistan has scored 80 runs for the loss of two openers, Imam and Shafique. The partnership between Rizwan and Babar is looking threatening. The play will resume quickly.
