The Sri Lankan cricket team arrives in Guwahati for the 2023 World Cup of Cricket warm-up games. Prior to the four ICC World Cup 2023 warm-up matches, cricket teams started arriving in Guwahati on Wednesday.

Early this morning, the Sri Lankan team arrived at Guwahati Airport. Around 5 p.m. today, the Bangladesh team is anticipated to arrive in the city. According to sources, both teams will be staying at the Vivanta Guwahati. Guwahati will host four pre-World Cup exhibition games.

When the ICC revealed the schedule for the event to be held in India in June, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) denied Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium from serving as the site of a World Cup 2023 match.

The ICC calendar states that four exhibition games will take place in Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium from September 29 through October 3.

The first practice match will see Bangladesh taking on Sri Lanka on September 29, and the second practice match will feature India hosting England on September 30.

The third warm-up game between England and Bangladesh will take place on October 2, after which Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will play the fourth and final warm-up game in Guwahati.

All ten teams competing in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will play two official 50-over matches each in the week leading up to the tournament’s start on October 5. The matches will be held in three different cities across India.

When the ICC released the schedule for the event to be hosted in India back in June, Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium was passed over by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
