Virat Kohli ties Sachin Tendulkar’s record, In terms of most ODI hundreds. Against South Africa in the ICC World Cup 2023 match, 35-year-old Indian batting prodigy Virat Kohli tied the long-standing record of most ODI hundreds held by the great Sachin Tendulkar.

In the 49th over of India’s innings, Kohli reached the record-equalling hundred deliveries after giving up 119 deliveries. At the storied Eden Gardens, he achieved this milestone by working Kagiso Rabada’s length delivery to cover for a single.

While Virat Kohli accomplished his 49th century in 277 innings during his 289th match, India’s legendary batsman Tendulkar needed 451 innings to reach the mark.

Notably, he moved one step closer to Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries across formats with this, his 79th international century overall.
