Barcelona Star Raphinha Sustains Injury During World Cup Match

Football & Cricket

A key offensive player for La Liga champions Barcelona has encountered a new health issue. It has been confirmed that Raphinha has re-injured his hamstring, a problem that has troubled him at the club level this past season.

Raphinha started in the early hours of Saturday’s World Cup group stage match between Brazil and Haiti. However, on the way to Brazil’s eventual 3-0 victory, the former Leeds United player was forced to leave the game prematurely.

After falling to the ground and clutching his right leg, it became evident that Raphinha was unable to continue. He was substituted by Rayan late in the first half.

The Brazilian medical team has since issued a statement confirming: “The attacker felt pain in the hamstring of his right thigh during the first half of the match against Haiti. The player has already begun treatment and will be re-evaluated.”

It remains to be seen if Raphinha will miss any of Brazil’s upcoming World Cup fixtures.
