A prominent attacker for Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid has now received the Man of the Match award in both of his World Cup appearances this summer.
The player in question is Vinícius Jr.
Winger Vinícius Jr. featured prominently once again in the early hours of Saturday morning as Brazil continued their World Cup group stage campaign against Haiti.
In a match that saw Carlo Ancelotti’s team secure a 3-0 victory, the 25-year-old played a pivotal role.
After providing the assist for Matheus Cunha’s second goal, Vinícius Jr. then sealed the scoring just before halftime with a composed finish.
These outstanding contributions were enough for the forward to clinch the Man of the Match award, ahead of teammate Cunha who also scored twice.
This marks the second consecutive ‘MVP’ trophy for Vinícius Jr., following his recognition after Brazil’s opening World Cup match against Morocco.
