Italian Serie A club Como has successfully recruited another player from Spain’s top football division. The latest acquisition is midfielder Luis Milla, who will depart from Getafe to embark on a new chapter in Italy.
Milla, 31, had been widely anticipated to leave Getafe this summer, largely due to a favorable release clause in his contract with the Madrid-based club. His departure follows a highly successful individual season in Spain, where he contributed double-digit assists from his midfield position.
These impressive performances did not go unnoticed across Europe, especially once details of Milla’s €6 million release clause became public knowledge. Como emerged as a suitor and has now reached an agreement with both Getafe and the player, outmaneuvering other interested parties.
According to renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is confirmed: “Luis Milla to Como, here we go! Deal sealed at €6m fee with Getafe and all agreed also on player side. Milla, set to play Champions League football at Como.”
