ENG Vs BAN Warm-up Match, Guwahati, 2nd Powerplay Score Update - ENG Inning

Notorious Guwahati’s hosting another ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023’s Warm-up match between England and Bangladesh. The standing skipper from Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss and set a total of 197 (DLS) in 37 overs. English skipper rotated his vast variety of bowlers to give them all the exposure they needed before starting the CWC23 campaign. 

Earlier in the game, David Malan and Johnny Bairstow started the inning for England and Mustafiz opened the bowling for Bangladesh. The 2nd inning under lights prove costly for English opener as Mustafiz from Bangladesh removed David Malan in his very first over.

Bairstow was lethal right from the word go and opened his shoulders up while playing all around the gound. Despite losing a wicket they got a flying start in this warm-up game of ICC Men’s ODI Worrldcup 2023. Thanks to Johnny Bairstow, England crossed the team fifty in just 3.3 overs.

The major performer in the 1st powerplay in this practice match were Mustafiz from Bangladesh as he took 2 crucial wickets whilst from England it was none other than Jonny Bairstow who was the man of destruction. 2nd Brook and then Buttler enjoyed their cameo. Summarily, England Sneaked past 90 with the help of 16 boundaries.

As the 2nd powerplay began, England reached 100 in just 10 overs. The skipper was brilliant with the bat, made 30 off 15 with strike of 200 in the 11th over of the inning. He was fallen pray to Shoriful whle hitting towards deep backward square leg where Tohidy didn’t make any mistake. England were 107/4.  Bangladesh didn’t wait longer for the fifth wicket as Taskin Ahmed provided the Break-through and bright Bangladesh back into the warm-up match against England. This time Liam Livingston, scoring 7 off 11, smashed to Mid-off where Shanto grabbed a blinder.

Damage had been done at that stage of the inning with England losing 5 wickets. Moin Ali and Joe Root started building a partnership unlike earlier ones. Bangladesh introduced spin in the 18th over of the inning when England required 60 at a required runrate of 3. Moin’s IPL’s experience came into play and he started smashing the balls hard after getting settled.

Root stayed at the other end while rest of the players came their detour. Moin was unstoppable with the bat and smashed his half century in just 37 deliveries including six 5s and two 4s when England were looking in trouble. He departed just before when England required 4 to win the game.

England win by 4 wickets sparing 77balls. And the Batter of the show was only Moin ALi whose sensible inning took England home.
