A single La Liga representative has earned a spot in the official UEFA Champions League Team of the Season. This player is Marcos Llorente, a member of Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid squad.
The 2025/26 Champions League season concluded with Paris Saint-Germain defeating Arsenal to secure their second consecutive title. Consequently, the recently unveiled Team of the Season is heavily populated by players from these two champion clubs. Notable inclusions are David Raya, Nuno Mendes, Declan Rice, and Ousmane Dembélé.
Out of the entire lineup, only three players do not currently play for Arsenal or PSG. Two of these are from Bayern Munich: Michael Olise and Harry Kane. The third, and perhaps a more surprising inclusion, is Marcos Llorente from Atlético Madrid.
After a strong continental campaign that saw his team reach the semi-finals, Marcos Llorente has been selected as the right-back in the Champions League Team of the Season, surpassing Achraf Hakimi for the position.
