France, under new coach Zidane, secured a comeback 4-1 victory against Belgium at the Parc des Princes. The match took a difficult turn for the French early on, but strategic substitutions proved decisive late in the game.

Despite early efforts from France's Barcola and Lepaul, Belgium took the lead in the 35th minute. Lavia's pass found Lukebakio, who beat Maignan, the Milan goalkeeper, to score. In the second half, France sought an equalizer through Koné, Lepaul, and Cherki, but initially struggled to find the net.

Zidane then introduced Olise and Doue, a move that paid off. The young talent Olise equalized in the 77th minute. Cherki put France ahead in the 81st minute, and Olise completed the rout with a fourth goal between the 88th and 91st minutes. This win propelled France to the top of Group 1, allowing Italy to move into second place by overtaking Belgium.
