Barcelona Star Raphinha Practically Ruled Out of Remainder of World Cup

Football & Cricket

Barcelona attacker Raphinha is highly unlikely to participate in the remaining matches of this summer’s World Cup. This unfortunate turn of events stems from an injury sustained during Brazil’s recent game.

The Brazilian national team, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, was in action early Saturday. Raphinha started the match, forming a formidable front three alongside Vinícius Jr. and Matheus Cunha. However, during Brazil’s 3-0 victory over Haiti, the former Leeds United player experienced a muscular issue, forcing him off the field before halftime.

It has since been confirmed that Raphinha has re-injured his right hamstring, the same muscle that caused him problems at his club last season. Due to this recurring issue, the 29-year-old may have already played his last game of the 2026 World Cup.

According to a report from journalist Xavi Hernández Navarro of the Catalan publication ARA:

“Raphinha Dias Belloli has once again injured his hamstring and his presence in the remainder of the World Cup is practically ruled out.”

Barcelona star Raphinha appears almost certain to miss the rest of this summer’s World Cup. This comes as a result of an injury setback the Brazilian suffered in his country’s latest match.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil was back in action in the early hours of Saturday. Raphinha, as mentioned, started the game, joining Vinícius Jr. and Matheus Cunha in a star-studded Seleção frontline.

However, on the way to a decisive 3-0 win against Haiti, the former Leeds United player picked up a muscular problem, forcing him off late in the first half.

The issue has since been confirmed to be in Raphinha’s problematic right hamstring, the same one that caused him trouble at club level once again this past season.

And because of this, the 29-year-old may well have played his final match at the 2026 World Cup.

According to a report from journalist Xavi Hernández Navarro of Catalan outlet ARA:

‘Raphinha Dias Belloli has once again injured his hamstring and his presence in the remainder of the World Cup is practically ruled out.’
